The British Council is the UK’s international organisation for cultural relations and educational opportunities. We create friendly knowledge and understanding between the people of the UK and other countries. We do this by making a positive contribution to the UK and the countries we work with – changing lives by creating opportunities, building connections and engendering trust.

We’re here to help governments, corporations, institutions and millions of people respond to the many challenges that the continent faces as it enjoys a period of unprecedented growth and stability. We see people who want a good education and the skills to get a job and join the global community. We see progressive leaders seeking innovation to transform education and training systems and build more equitable societies.

For all of us, our prosperity and happiness are founded on trust and co-operation. That’s why, with our many partners in the UK and the region, we’re embarking on a strategy for growth and innovation to help respond to these challenges. Our aim is to strengthen cultural relations with the Americas in ways which will enable more people in the UK to learn and benefit from their contacts with the region. If you would like to join us, we’d like to hear from you.
